Information we collect

We may collect information when you contact us, request a fee proposal or appoint KD Design for a project. This can include:

We normally receive this information directly from you, although some information may come from consultants, contractors, local authorities or publicly available planning records.

• Submit applications to councils, Building Control and other authorities

We do not sell personal information or use your contact details for general marketing without your agreement.

Who we share information with

Where necessary, information may be shared with planning authorities, Building Control, consultants, contractors, professional advisers and other members of the project team.

We also use trusted service providers, including:

• Squarespace for website hosting, forms and website analytics

• Dropbox for secure storage, backup and sharing of project documents

• Google for Google Analytics and embedded YouTube videos

• Email, accounting and other information technology providers

Information submitted as part of a planning or statutory application may become publicly available through the relevant authority.

Project photographs, drawings or testimonials will not be used for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we expect appropriate legal safeguards to be in place.

Cookies and website analytics

This website uses necessary cookies to operate securely. It also uses Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors find and use the website.

Analytics services may collect information about your browser, device, approximate location, pages visited and how you interact with the website. Non essential analytics cookies are only used after you have accepted them through the website cookie controls.

Some pages may contain embedded YouTube videos. When a video is loaded or played, Google may receive technical information about the visitor and their interaction with the video.

You can accept, reject or manage non essential cookies using the website cookie controls. Further information is available in the privacy policies of Squarespace, Google and Dropbox.

How long we keep information

Enquiry information may be retained for up to two years where no appointment follows.

Project records are generally retained for up to twelve years following completion of our services to meet possible contractual, professional and insurance requirements. Financial records are normally retained for at least six years.

Information may be kept for longer where required by law, our insurers or an ongoing legal matter.

Security

We use reasonable security measures including password protection, access controls, secure devices and reputable cloud storage providers. Access to personal information is limited to those who reasonably need it.

Your rights

You may have the right to ask us to:

• Provide a copy of your personal information

• Correct inaccurate information

• Delete or restrict the use of your information
